*Hanging Weight

Hanging weight  is the weight of the meat after the animal has been butchered but before it is divided into individual cuts. The amount you will take home is about 25%  less than the hanging weight due to trimming & boning.  

A Typical Beef Quarter is as follows:

Hind Quarter (144lbs HW) 100.5lbs Actual

Front Quarter (156lbs HW) 118lbs  Actual

We sell a mixed quarter or split half.  This means that our typical quarter is about 150 pounds.

No room in your freezer?  Consider getting another family to split the ¼ with you.

¼ of a Cow is about 4 large brown paper grocery sacks

 

Beef will be packed, frozen and ready for pick-up

Each 1/4 will includes about equal amounts of Steaks, Roasts and Ground beef and may be cut to your preferences. You may come visit your steer, just call to set up time to visit the farm.
